Publication
IFSSO publishes a Newsletter two times a year, providing information about ongoing activities and the general situation of the social sciences in a large number of countries, both within and outside its membership. The Newsletter also brings news about IFSSO own activities and about the main social science meetings, publication and related issues in the various regions and on the international scene. A recent feature of the Newsletter is articled on broad social science topics of relevance and interest presented by the IFSSO membership, or on topics dealing with a specific issue of problem faced in a member organisation but considered of general relevance to the order members. The IFSSO Newsletter is distributed free of charge to a large member of organisations and individuals.

Every second year, IFSSO used to publish the proceedings of its General Conferences in an Occasional Paper appearing as a Special Issue of the IFSSO Newsletter. Since 1995, such proceedings have been instead published as a book of Collected Papers, edited by the Officer in charge of the organisation of the General Conference. The aim is to disseminate the contents and the results of the Conferences as much as possible.

Since 1978, IFSSO has published an International Directory of Social Science Organisations. It contains information about the background, structure, programmes, publications, international relations as well as names and addresses, etc. of secretariats and chief officers concerning almost all members of IFSSO as well as a large number of similar bodies outside its membership. The purpose of the Directory is to provide a useful and practical tool for the international cooperation in the social sciences.
